Maot Chittim
Passover Campaign

” All who are hungry, let them come and eat. All who are needy, let them come and celebrate the Passover with us.” – Passover Haggadah

For centuries, every year, Jewish communities around the world collect and distribute funds to ensure that everyone may have a Passover Seder or eat matzah. This mitzvah, known as Maot Chittim, or ‘money for wheat,’ is our collective way of gathering donations to provide for all those in need at Passover.

The Passover Campaign is an effort to raise critical funds for food security to meet our community’s growing needs to help those who are living in poverty. In the past year, Jewish Family Service Agency has seen a significant increase in the number of people needing help, due to the rising cost of basic food and the overall increased cost of living in Vancouver.

A gift will help fulfill this important commandment and ensure that nutritious food is provided to children, adults and seniors this holiday.

Your donation will assist over 500 individuals throughout the Lower Mainland to fulfill the mitzvah of eating matzah and participate in our time honoured traditions.

Please give generously! JFSA Friends for Life, Neil & Michelle, have pledged to match all new and increased gifts to a total of $20,000, to ensure that we can help as many people as possible.

Enjoy the Passover Seder this year with your family knowing that another family is also able to celebrate due to your kindness.

On behalf of the Rabbinical Association of Vancouver, thank you very much for your consideration. This is the true spirit of Tzedakah – righteousness.

Sincerely yours,
